| الوصف: | Esta tesis tiene como objetivo estudiar a los germanófilos españoles durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. En ella se examinan las iniciativas llevadas a cabo por este sector de la opinión pública española, que se formó poco después del inicio de la Gran Guerra, y se analizan sus motivaciones. Además, se investiga el papel y la influencia que tuvo la colonia alemana en España en el desarrollo y la promoción de los sentimientos pro-alemanes y «neutralistas» en este sector la sociedad española. Finalmente, también se explica el final de aquella germanofilia coyuntural, así como su legado ideológico más inmediato. |
| Description (Translated): | This thesis aims to study Spanish germanophiles during World War I. It examines the initiatives carried out by this sector of the Spanish public opinion, formed after the outbreak of the Great War, and analyses their motivations. Additionally, it investigates the role and influence of the German colony in Spain in the development and promotion of pro-German and “neutralist” feelings within this part of the Spanish society. Finally, it also explains what happened to that temporary “germanophilia” that was born under the European conflict, as well as its most immediate ideological legacy.
