As políticas de conservação e proteção da biodiversidade ou simplesmente conservação ambiental são, atualmente, incontornáveis em todos os diferentes contextos globais. Um dos processos mais importantes e visíveis desta política é a da criação de áreas protegidas terrestres ou aquáticas com uma grande biodiversidade. Normalmente são áreas de grande extensão cujo objetivo principal é a preservação dos ecossistemas naturais (são também potenciais áreas de pesquisas científicas e, em muitos casos, a única atividade económica que é autorizada nestas áreas é o ecoturismo). É bem conhecido o drama que resulta do atrito na interação das comunidades que vivem nas proximidades e dentro das áreas protegidas com os ecossistemas nessas mesmas áreas e as instituições de conservação. Considerando a conservação ambiental e a importância da caça para a subsistência das comunidades rurais dentro das áreas protegidas e nas imediações das mesmas, este trabalho foca-se na análise da caça nas áreas protegidas da Guiné-Bissau (Parques Nacionais e Naturais) e não protegidas praticada por alguns indivíduos das comunidades nas mesmas áreas e a relação destas com as instituições para a conservação da natureza do Estado e as ONG ambientalistas. Esta análise será feita com base nas informações adquiridas nas entrevistas, nas interações informais e na observação; tendo sempre em conta a ideia da natureza / ambiente e do desenvolvimento sustentável que está na base da criação de áreas protegidas e outras políticas de conservação da vida selvagem, assim como a dificuldade na implantação destas áreas protegidas e políticas nestes contextos (e outros não ocidentais). |

Biodiversity conservation and protection policies, or simply environmental conservation, are currently unavoidable in all different global contexts. One of the most important and visible processes of this policy is the creation of terrestrial or aquatic protected areas with great biodiversity. They are usually large areas whose main objective is the preservation of natural ecosystems (they are also potential scientific research areas and the only economic activity that is authorized in these areas is ecotourism). It is well known the drama that results from the friction in the interaction of the communities that live in the vicinity and inside the protected areas with the ecosystems in these same areas and the conservation institutions. Considering environmental conservation and the importance of hunting for the subsistence of rural communities within protected areas and in their surroundings: this work focuses on the analysis of hunting in protected areas in Guinea-Bissau (National and Natural Parks) and non-protected practiced by some individuals from the communities in the same areas and their relationship with institutions for nature conservation in the state and environmental NGOs. This analysis will be based on information acquired in interviews, informal interactions and observation; always taking into account the idea of nature / environment and sustainable development that underlies the creation of protected areas and other wildlife conservation policies, as well as the difficulty in implementing these protected areas and policies in these (and other non-Western) contexts. |
