A presente dissertação tem como objetivo de investigação “o pensar da sociedade contemporânea” do século XXI, tentando perceber se as suas vontades e necessidades conduzem a uma desconfigurarão e incompreensão pelo património cultural. São apresentadas temáticas de valor cultural e de mercado; observa-se património como um recurso, mas também como um processo cultural; é construída uma balança de eixos sobre a compreensão e valorização dos patrimónios. O estudo de caso apresentado, da Casa Alcaide-mor de Estremoz, é alavanca para a inserção da tese da demolição e qual o impacto que a mesma tem, quer perante o património cultural, quer perante a sociedade onde o mesmo se insere. Questionar património, torna-se agora a forma mais exata de valorizar o mesmo, trazendo diálogos novas e discussões necessárias sobre o património na atual sociedade, e na futura. Como salvaguardar património, quando os próprios meios de valorização se encontram repletos de desvios e desentendimentos; - A Critical Thought on Contemporary society – a way to the cultural heritage’s demolition? Abstract The aim of this dissertation is to investigate "the thinking of contemporary society" in the 21st century, trying to understand whether its wants and needs are leading to a deconfiguration and lack of understanding of cultural heritage. Themes of cultural and market value are presented; heritage is observed as a resource, but also as a cultural process; a balance of axes is built on the understanding and appreciation of heritage. The case study presented, of the Casa Alcaide-mor in Estremoz, is a lever for inserting the thesis of demolition and the impact it has, both on cultural heritage and on the society in which it is located. Questioning heritage now becomes the most accurate way of valuing it, bringing new dialogues and necessary discussions about heritage in now a day’s society, and in the future. How to safeguard heritage when the very means of valorization are full of deviations and misunderstandings. |
