Apesar das condições climáticas adversas de Cabo Verde como a escassez de água e o clima quente e seco, a agricultura sempre foi uma das principais atividades de subsistência da população. Ao longo dos anos a agricultura integrou-se nos elementos estratégicos para o desenvolvimento económico e social do país, através da aposta em investimentos na produção agrícola e pecuária. O presente trabalho tem o intuito de elaborar um projeto de investimento de um agronegócio para uma pequena exploração agrícola na ilha de São Vicente, para a produção e comercialização de hortícolas e analisar a sua viabilidade económico-financeira no contexto do país, para o período de 8 anos, enquadrado no clima da região, nos fatores de produção existentes e nas necessidades do mercado.Inicialmente foi feita a revisão bibliográfica da agricultura do país e a caracterização da população da ilha, e foi elaborado o plano de negócios. Em seguida, foi feita a fundamentação técnica do projeto com toda a estrutura da exploração e por fim foi analisada a viabilidade do projeto através dos indicadores VAL (Valor Atual Líquido), TIR (Taxa Interna de Rendibilidade) e payback.Com a análise financeira, concluiu-se que o projeto é viável na ótica do investidor porque apresenta um VAL positivo de 4 457 839.14 CVE, uma TIR de 10,16 % e um período de payback equivalente a 7 anos. |

Despite Cape Verde's adverse climatic conditions, such as the scarcity of water and the hot, dry climate, agriculture has always been one of the population's main livelihood activities. Over the years, agriculture has become one of the strategic elements for the country's economic and social development, through investment in agricultural and livestock production. The aim of this work is to draw up an agribusiness investment project for a small farm on the island of São Vicente, for the production and marketing of vegetables, and to analyze its economic and financial viability in the context of the country, over a period of 8 years, taking into account the region's climate, existing production factors and market needs.Initially, a bibliographical review was made of the country's agriculture and the characterization of the island's population, and the business plan was drawn up. Next, the project's technical foundations were laid out, including the farm's entire structure, and finally the project's viability was analyzed using the NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and payback indicators.The financial analysis concluded that the project is viable from the investor's point of view because it has a positive NPV of 4,457,839.14 CVE, an IRR of 10.16 % and a payback period equivalent to 7 years. |
