| الوصف: | Resum disponible en anglès i castellà The object of this study is to analyze a text written by Hernando de Talavera (ca. 1428 – 1507) for the Cistercian nuns of Ávila: the Suma y breve compilación. In it it is possible to trace how one of the main promoters of the reform planned by the catholic monarchs conceived feminine sanctity. According to Talavera, sanctity comes neither from exceptional abilities, nor from extreme practices. That is why the monastic life described by the author is a particularly controlled one. Nevertheless, he also insists several times on the fact that nuns do not have to look for individual sanctity, but have to strive for sanctity within the community. En este trabajo se estudia un texto escrito por Hernando de Talavera (ca. 1428 – 1507) para las cistercienses de Ávila: la Suma y breve compilación. Dicho tratado nos permite estudiar cómo se concebía la santidad femenina a finales del siglo XV, entre los promotores de la reforma del clero contemplada por los Reyes Católicos. Así, el texto sugiere que, para Talavera, la santidad no se debe a dones excepcionales, y tampoco se adquiere mediante prácticas extremas. Por eso, la vida conventual tal y como la describe el autor se caracteriza por su carácter ascético y controlado. Sin embargo, también insiste una y otra vez sobre el hecho de que no se ha de buscar la santidad individual, sino la santidad de la comunidad. |
