Patent Number: | 11213,387 |
تاريخ النشر: | January 04, 2022 |
Appl. No: | 16/565564 |
Application Filed: | September 10, 2019 |
مستخلص: | A heart valve stent having a section with a heart valve implant and several proximally disposed tissue anchors, also comprising a plurality of anchoring threats, each with a proximate end fastened to the stent or valve and a distal end attached to tissue within a heart chamber to provide tension between the heart chamber tissue and the stent. |
Inventors: | Lutter, Georg (Kiel, DE); Lozonschi, Lucian (Madison, WI, US) |
Claim: | 1. A prosthetic mitral valve comprising: a self-expanding stent having a proximal atrial section and a distal body section; a prosthetic valve assembly disposed within the body section of the stent; and a cloth member positioned on an exterior surface of the atrial section of the stent; wherein the atrial section of the stent includes a first tissue anchor connected to, and flaring radially outward from, a first end of the body section, the first tissue anchor including a plurality of circumferentially arranged expandable stent cells adapted to anchor to a first tissue area on an atrial side of a native mitral valve annulus; wherein the body section of the stent includes a plurality of second tissue anchors extending therefrom adapted to anchor to a second tissue area disposed distally to the first tissue area; and wherein the cloth member on the atrial section of the stent is adapted to directly contact surrounding heart structure to provide a seal between the atrial section of the stent and the surrounding heart structure. |
Claim: | 2. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the prosthetic valve assembly is directly coupled to the body section of the stent. |
Claim: | 3. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the cloth member is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of synthetics, pericardium, and polytetrafluoroethylene. |
Claim: | 4. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the cloth member is also positioned on an exterior surface of the body section of the stent. |
Claim: | 5. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of second tissue anchors includes a plurality of anchoring sutures. |
Claim: | 6. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the body section of the stent has a shape of a truncated cone. |
Claim: | 7. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein one side of the body section is flattened relative to another side of the body section. |
Claim: | 8. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of second tissue anchors are attached to a second end of the body section opposite the first end. |
Claim: | 9. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of circumferentially arranged expandable stent cells are triangular-shaped. |
Claim: | 10. The prosthetic mitral valve of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of circumferentially arranged expandable stent cells are arch-shaped. |
Claim: | 11. A method comprising: delivering a prosthetic mitral valve to a native mitral valve annulus via a catheter, the prosthetic mitral valve having a self-expanding stent including (a) a proximal atrial section and a distal body section, (b) a prosthetic valve assembly disposed within the body section of the stent, and (c) a cloth member positioned on an exterior surface of the atrial section of the stent, the atrial section of the stent including a first tissue anchor connected to, and flaring radially outward from, a first end of the body section, the first tissue anchor including a plurality of circumferentially arranged expandable stent cells adapted to anchor to a first tissue area on an atrial side of a native mitral valve annulus, the body section of the stent including a plurality of second tissue anchors extending therefrom adapted to anchor to a second tissue area disposed distally to the first tissue area, the cloth member on the atrial section of the stent being adapted to directly contact surrounding heart structure to provide a seal between the atrial section of the stent and the surrounding heart structure; allowing the atrial section of the stent to self-expand so that the first tissue anchor engages the first tissue area; and engaging the plurality of second tissue anchors to the second tissue area. |
Claim: | 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the prosthetic valve assembly is directly coupled to the body section of the stent. |
Claim: | 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the cloth member is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of synthetics, pericardium, and polytetrafluoroethylene. |
Claim: | 14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the cloth member is also positioned on an exterior surface of the body section of the stent. |
Claim: | 15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of second tissue anchors includes a plurality of anchoring sutures, and engaging the plurality of second tissue anchors to the second tissue area includes engaging the plurality of anchoring sutures to a wall of a left ventricle or to one or more papillary muscles. |
Claim: | 16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the body section of the stent has a shape of a truncated cone. |
Claim: | 17. The method of claim 11 , wherein one side of the body section is flattened relative to another side of the body section, the method including positioning the flattened side of the body section facing a left ventricular outflow tract. |
Claim: | 18. The method of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of second tissue anchors are attached to a second end of the body section opposite the first end. |
