| الوصف: | Les monuments de spectacles constituent un témoignage essentiel de l'influence romaine en Gaule. Si le théâtre romain d'Antipolis est avéré en particulier par les fouilles de H. Bazin, il n'en est pas de même d'un éventuel amphithéâtre dont l'existence continue de poser de nombreuses questions. Le but de cette étude est de présenter l'état des connaissances actuelles (textes et illustrations publiés ou inédits, résultats des opérations archéologiques) pour apporter un début de réponse à ces questions. La conclusion que nous pouvons avancer est qu'il a existé à Antibes une construction de plan ovale, alignée avec le théâtre, mais dont la typologie reste à déterminer. The spectacle monuments represent an essential element of the Roman influence in Gaul. If the roman theatre of Antipolis was recognized by H. Bazin's excavations, the same cannot be said of a possible amphitheater, of which the existence still raises many questions. The aim of this study is to present the current state of knowledge (texts and illustrations, published or not, and archaeological excavation results) and provide an initial response to these questions. In conclusion, we can say that an oval building existed in Antibes. lined up with the theater, but its function is still unknown. |
