| الوصف: | Pour l’ordre des frères Mineurs, le pontificat de Jean XXII fut une période de crises internes et de transformations. La condamnation des Spirituels par le pape fut suivie d’une profonde réforme du rapport des franciscains à la propriété et de l’arrivée à la tête de l’ordre de frères originaires de la province d’Aquitaine. Ces événements sont bien connus. Un inventaire conservé dans les registres de comptabilité du couvent d’Avignon jette néanmoins un nouvel éclairage sur les appuis de ces frères à la Curie. Le document invite aussi à s’interroger plus avant sur leurs liens avec Jean XXII et sur le rôle du couvent de la cité pontificale dans le gouvernement de l’ordre. John XXII’ s pontificate was a time of internal crisis and of changes for the Order of friars minor. The condemnation of the Spiritual by the pope was followed by a radical reform of the franscicans’ conception of poverty and by the nomination at the Order’s direction of friars who came from the the province of Aquitaine. These matters are well known. But an inventory kept in the ledgers of the convent of Avignon casts new light on the friars’ supports at the papal Curia. This documents also allows further thoughts on the friars’ relationship with John XXII and on the role of the papal city’s convent for the government of the Order. |
