Claim: 1. An image pickup apparatus comprising a plurality of pixels each including a read-out node to which an electric charge generated in a photoelectric conversion unit is transferred, an output unit configured to convert the electric charge transferred to the read-out node into a voltage and output the voltage to a signal line, and a switch including a first node electrically connected to the read-out node, wherein each switch includes a second node different from the first node, and a predetermined number of second nodes are electrically connected to a common bypass wiring.
Claim: 2. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein electric charges transferred to a plurality of read-out nodes are added together via a plurality of switches and a bypass wiring.
Claim: 3. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein each pixel further includes a transfer unit disposed in an electrical path between the photoelectric conversion unit and the first node.
Claim: 4. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein pixels of a first color and pixels of a second color are arranged alternately, second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the first color are connected in common to a first bypass wiring, and second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the second color are connected in common to a second bypass wiring.
Claim: 5. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the pixels are arranged in a matrix, and a plurality of signal lines are provided in each pixel column.
Claim: 6. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the pixels are arranged in a matrix, a plurality of signal lines are provided in each pixel column, pixels of a first color and pixels of a second color are arranged alternately in each pixel column, second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the first color are connected in common to a first bypass wiring, second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the second color are connected in common to a second bypass wiring, signals from the pixels of the first color are output to a first signal line, and signals from the pixels of the second color are output to a second signal line.
Claim: 7. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the first bypass wiring and the second bypass wiring are electrically isolated from each other.
Claim: 8. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the output unit includes a non-inverting amplifier, and the distance between the first bypass wiring and the second signal line is greater than the distance between the first bypass wiring and the first signal line.
Claim: 9. The image pickup apparatus according to claim 1, wherein an electric charge generated in a first photoelectric conversion unit and an electric charge generated in a second photoelectric conversion unit are transferred by depletion transfer to the read-out node.
Claim: 10. An image pickup apparatus comprising a plurality of pixels each including a read-out node to which an electric charge generated in a photoelectric conversion unit is transferred, an output unit configured to convert the electric charge transferred to the read-out node into a voltage and output the resultant voltage to a signal line, and a switch including a first node electrically connected to the read-out node, wherein each switch includes a second node different from the first node, a particular number of second nodes are electrically connected to a common bypass wiring, the pixels are arranged in a matrix, a plurality of signal lines are provided in each pixel column, pixels of a first color and pixels of a second color are arranged alternately in each pixel column, second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the first color are connected in common to a first bypass wiring, second nodes of switches included in the respective pixels of the second color are connected in common to a second bypass wiring, signals from the pixels of the first color are output to a first signal line, signals from the pixels of the second color are output to a second signal line, the output unit includes a non-inverting amplifier, and the distance between the first bypass wiring and the second signal line is greater than the distance between the first bypass wiring and the first signal line.
Claim: 11. A method of driving an image pickup apparatus including a plurality of pixels each including a read-out node to which an electric charge generated in a photoelectric conversion unit is transferred, an output unit configured to convert the electric charge transferred to the read-out node into a voltage and output the resultant voltage to a signal line, and a switch including a first node electrically connected to the read-out node, the method comprising: turning on a plurality of switches such that electric charges transferred to a plurality of read-out nodes are added together via a common bypass wiring electrically connected to a second node, different from the first node, of each switch.
Claim: 12. The method according to claim 11, wherein the plurality of switches are turned into an off-state and signals of respective pixels are read out independently.
Claim: 13. The method according to claim 11, wherein among the switches with the second node electrically connected to the common bypass wiring, a particular number of switches are turned on to increase the capacitance of the node.
Claim: 14. The method according to claim 11, wherein signals of a plurality of pixels are simultaneously output to a plurality of signal lines provided in each pixel column.
Claim: 15. The method according to claim 14, wherein the signals simultaneously output to the signal lines are each a signal obtained by adding the signals of the plurality of pixels.
