مستخلص: The invention relates to an apparatus and a process for the treatment of an incoming fluid, comprising: a bottom part connecting a common feed stream to individual membrane filter modules through a tailor made connecting piece; a top part connecting individual membrane filter modules to a common retentate stream through a tailor made connecting piece. According to the invention the apparatus is assembled out of tailor-made parts with the object to reduce material costs and labor costs, and the part are made such that footprint of the contraption is minimized Furthermore, more, the individual parts form a sub-unit with such dimensions that multiple sub-units can be combined into one main unit, without the need to execute any alterations to the sub-units in terms of sizing, by which means modularity and scalability is introduced into the main units.

Claim: 1. Device for filtering of a fluid, comprising: multiple filter modules, each comprising an inlet opening at a first end for feeding the fluid to be filtered and at least one of a second end and the first end, a first outlet opening for discharging the filtered fluid and at the second end a second outlet opening for discharging the remaining unfiltered fluid; a feeding device for feeding the fluid to be filtered comprising a feeding pipe and a connection from the feeding pipe to the inlet opening of each of the filter modules; a first outlet device for discharging the filtered fluid comprising a first outlet pipe and a connection of the first outlet opening of each of the filter modules to the first outlet pipe; and a second outlet device for discharging the remaining unfiltered fluid comprising a second outlet pipe and a connection of the second outlet opening of each of the filter modules to the second outlet pipe, and means for supporting the filter modules and keeping the filter modules in a position parallel to each other, so that the first ends are essentially positioned in a first common plane and the second ends are essentially positioned in a second common plane, wherein the feeding device at least comprises a closed reservoir that comprises an inlet opening that is connectable to the inlet pipe through which the fluid to be filtered is being fed and multiple openings each for connection to an inlet opening of a filter module the second outlet device comprises a reservoir that comprises an outlet opening that is connected to the second outlet pipe through which remaining fluid to be filtered is being discharged and multiple openings each for connection to the second outlet opening of a filter module, and each filter module is supported and kept in its position by the connected reservoir of the inlet device/feeding device and the connected reservoir of the second outlet device.
Claim: 2. Device according to claim 1, wherein the connection of the first outlet opening of each of the filter modules to the first outlet pipe at least partly is positioned within the respective reservoir of the second outlet device.
Claim: 3. Device according to claim 1, wherein the connection of the first outlet opening of each of the filter modules to the first outlet pipe at least partly is positioned within the respective reservoir of the inlet device.
Claim: 4. Device according to claim 1, wherein the at least one reservoir of the inlet device comprises a outlet opening that is connected to a inlet opening of a next reservoir.
Claim: 5. Device according to claim 1, wherein the connection of the filter module to the reservoir comprises a male/female connection that comprises a sealing.
Claim: 6. Device according to claim 1, wherein the connection of the filter module to the reservoir comprises a flanged connection.
Claim: 7. Device according to claim 1, wherein the at least one reservoir of the inlet device comprises eighteen openings each for connection to the inlet opening of a filter module.
Claim: 8. Device according to claim 7, wherein the openings each for connection to an inlet opening of a filter module are arranged in six rows of three.
Claim: 9. Device according to claim 1, wherein the at least one reservoir of the second outlet device comprises three openings each for connection to a second outlet opening of a filter module.
Claim: 10. Device according to claim 1, wherein each of the filter modules comprises an aerator at its first end.
Claim: 11. Process for the treatment of a fluid in which the process utilizes a device according to claim 1.
