According to the present invention, the gasket can effectively protect a photovoltaic module against shock and reduce the possibility of moisture penetrating a seal between rigid surfaces. |

1. A method of preparing a foamed gasket, comprising: providing a foam having a density in the range of 0.005 to 0.6 g/cm3; molding the foam into foam sheets; and forming the gasket from the foam sheets. |

2. The method of claim 1, wherein a polymer or polymers used to make the foam do not contain any functional groups which can be hydrolyzed. |
