مستخلص: | This book presents a meaningful analysis of the technical and scientific studies of a wide range of techniques for rock breakage. It explores the principles of percussive drilling, rotary drilling, rock boring, rock splitting, and water jet cutting in rock. It also discusses the theory of chemical explosives, the calculation of the performance parameters of explosives, the mechanics of explosive fragmentation, and the results of quantitative field experimentation. Similar results of quantitative observations of TBM field performance are presented. The characteristics of fragmented rock materials are described, as are the effects of gravity on their flow parameters. The effects of gravity on the formation of small and very large true explosive craters are important to both civilian and military engineers. The current issues of, wave equations for rock fragmentation, the nature of fragmented rock, some possible solutions to rock fragmentation problems facing government and industry and gravity effects on craters and flow of fragmented rock materials are examined.
