مستخلص: The metallic sedimentary deposits formed by chemical processes are a more or less coherent group whose precipitation is mostly controlled by Eh gradients; placers are largely excluded from this book, as are non-metallic deposits such as evaporites. Separate chapters are devoted to iron, copper and silver, aluminium and nickel, manganese, uranium, and lead and zinc. Discussion of each metal covers mineralogy, geochemistry, petrography, vertical sequence, and theories of origin, while examples of types of deposits are given and details of specific processes such as supergene enrichment are also included. The final chapter is on volcanic-sedimentary ore deposits of divergent and convergent plate boundaries. The book has author, subject, and locality indexes, and 44 pages of references.
