| مستخلص: | The aim of this cross-sectional research was to investigate if there is a correlation between the use of social media by adolescents between 9 and 14 years old and their life satisfaction. The existing literature has shown that there is no agreement about this direct relation, for that reason there is examined whether this relation is indirect effected by social self-esteem in adolescents. Data has been obtained from a large panel, in which 1029 adolescents were selected. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the relationships. The results of the present study showed that there was no direct significant relationship between social media use and life satisfaction. However, there was a positive indirect effect including social self-esteem. That means the more adolescents use social media, the higher their social self-esteem will be and the higher their life satisfaction. |
