| مستخلص: | After the arrival of the first news from the Indies, Pedro Mártir de Anglería defines in his letters and in De Orbe Novo a representation of the Indio and the American territory that suddenly spread among his contemporaries. This imagine of the Indio is figured out basically through imagination, and is based on an idea of the other in which is possible to detect both the need to find similarities as the fascination for the unknown. This study aims to define the imagine of the other described by Pedro Mártir as to analyze the ethic question that is purposed by the same in relation to the concepts of body and race and the use that people do of it in the colony as to classify humanity. Tras recibir las primeras noticias del descubrimiento de las Indias, Pedro Mártir construye en sus cartas y en el De Orbe Novo una representación del indio y del territorio americano que no tarda en difundirse entre sus contemporáneos. Esta representación del indígena es casi del todo imaginada y se basa en un acercamiento al otro en el que es posible detectar tanto la necesidad de encontrar similitudes como la fascinación por lo que hasta ese momento corresponde a lo desconocido. Este estudio se propone delinear la imagen del otro producida por Pedro Mártir y analizar la cuestión ética que propone en relación con el concepto de raza y con el uso que, a partir de la colonia, se hace de ello para clasificar a la humanidad. |
