| مستخلص: | The purpose of this study is to analyze how staff and young people use and experience materiality in the youth recreation center in order to increase staff's knowledge about ways of working with gender roles. The material consists of observation records and a focus group interview with staff from a youth recreation center in southern Sweden. The three theories used in the essay are Sara Ahmed's queer phenomenology, mainly her concepts of objects, orientation and lines, Karen Barad's post humanist concepts phenomena and intra-action and Daniel Miller's theory of things. The ping-pong table, chess board-tables and the young people's own mobile phones are objects that proved to have great power over how the material existence was experienced and used by young people and staff and is therefore central to the analysis. The result shows that the material existence affects how the girls and the boys behave and use the space of the youth recreation center. |
