الوصف: | 107 The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among parent-child relationship, emotion regulation and life adjustment of junior high school students in Kaohsiung. The survey samples consisted of 570 students from eight junior high schools in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The instruments included Parent-Child Relationship Scales, Emotion Regulation Scales, and Life Adjustment Scales. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple-stepwise regression analysis. Conclusions were as follows: 1. Junior high school students on average showed a middle-high level of parent-child relationship, emotion regulation and life adjustment. 2. Junior high school students who live with parents scored higher than those who don’t live with parents on the aspect “communication and emotional interaction” and “entity” of parent-child relationship. 3. Girls scored higher than boys on the aspect “emotional expression” of emotion regualtion. 4. Junior high school students who live with parents scored higher than those who don’t live with parents on the aspect “emotional expression”, “emotional regulation strageties”, “emotional efficacy” and “entity” of emotion regualtion. 5. Girls scored higher than boys on the aspect “interpersonal adjustment” of life adjustment. 6. The ninth grade students scored lowest on the aspect “school adjustment” of life adjustment and scored lower than seventh grade students on the aspect “interpersonal adjustment” of life adjustment. 7. Junior high school students who live with parents scored higher than those who don’t live with parents on the aspect “school adjustment”, “interpersonal adjustment”, and “entity” of life adjustment. 8. There were significant positively correlations between parent-child relationship and emotion regulation, parent-child relationship and life adjustment, and emotion regulation and life adjustment among junior high school students. 9. Parent-child relationship and emotion regulation of junior high school students can predict life adjustment. In the end, implications of the results and suggestions for parents, caregivers, junior high school teachers, counselors and future studies also presented. |
