الوصف: | 103 The purposes of this study were to understand the current high school students' attitude of participating extracurricular activities and the school extracurricular environment in Taipei City, and to examine the relationship between students' attitude of participating extracurricular activities and school extracurricular environment. The study used a cross-sectional research design.Quota sampling was used to obtain desired sample.Nine hundred and ninety high school students were selected from 11 senior high schools in Taipei City.The data were collected using"The Inventory of High School Students' Attitude of Participating Extracurricular Activities in Taipei City."The inventory consisted of three parts: Students' Background Information, School Extracurricular Environment Scales, and Attitude of Participating Extracurricular Activities Scales. A total of 873 responses were received and among them 817 were vaild.The vaild response rate was 82.5%.Reliability, descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlational analyses were conducted to analyze the data using SPSS 22.0 for windows. The major findings are listed as followings: I. The high school students' attitude of participating extracurricular activities is significantly above theoreticalaverage. II. Regarding the cognition of participating extracurricular activities, over 60% senior high school students in Taipei city agree that participating in extracurricular activities allows them to gain more experience, expand multiple interests, devote themselves to the sociaty and establish good interpersonal relationships. Concerning the affection of participating extracurricular activities, more than 50% of the students find extracurricular activities fun and interesting. By attending extracurricular activities stuidents gain self-confidence and create beautiful high school memories, they are also proud of being a part of their club. As the aspect of the behavior of participating extracurricular activities, 40% students are willing to take the initiative in the preparation, planning and participation in club affairs, trying their best to accomplish tasks giving out by the club director, and in bringing their skills into the activities. III. Senior high school students in Taipei city who are junior students, club leaders or club staff, have parents' full support in clubs; have joined clubs for more than four hours per week,have joined club for than one and a half year, have joined club as a reason to expand their social relationships as motive,participate club events every time, fully participatedin club, and members of autonomous clubshave more positive attitude towards their extracurricular activities.However, no significant differences were found in sex, school type, students' grade level, and numbers of clubs joined. IV. The school extracurricular environment in Taipei City is significantly above theoretical average. V. As the aspect of material environment in school, there are only 30% of senior high school students in Taipei city agree that school funds can afford club event's cost. As for the social environment in school, more than 80% of students agree that club staff are able to help club members to build well-coordination mutually. Around 50% of students agree that school principal or student affair director support student's clubparticipation.As the aspect of school's regulation environment, above 50%of students agree that club evaluation is fair. This club evaluation also benefits club inheritance. VI. The school social environment and the school regulationenvironment are all significantly positive correlated with senior high school students' attitude toward extracurricular activities. However, there is no significant correlat between the school material environment and the high school students' attitude of participating extracurricular activities. Based onthe results, suggestion for institutions, student affairs staff and future researchers were proposed.
