الوصف: | 102 Owing to the geography condition and shortage of surface water, Kinmen island relies on groundwater as the primary water resources. The rapid development of the tourism industry in recent years leads to increase the demand for groundwater. The objective of this research is to emphasize on the investigation and analysis the relation between the groundwater level and rainfall in western part of Kinmen island. The database of hydrogeology is established as well to serve as a reference for the development and management of groundwater resources. The study area of western Kinmen island is divided into three regions. Collection and correction of drilling data is conducted to expand the hydrogeology database. Three-dimensional geological lithology model is established with RockWorks15 to analyze the composition and lithology of the geological materials. Long-term data of groundwater level and rainfall records are analyzed to study the relevance of the groundwater level to rainfall. The numerical simulation of groundwater level rising caused by rainfall infiltration is carried out with SEEP/W program, and the results are compared with the In-situ data of groundwater level for verification. The geological lithology model shows that the gravel formation existing underneath the surface stratum distributes over the region from Guningtou elementary school to Pan Shan village. It is most likely the aquifer in this region. While clay layer with low permeability distributes over the other regions in study area. The clay formation may prevent rainfall infiltration into groundwater. According to the analysis of relevance of the groundwater level to rainfall, it reveals that the groundwater level raising is susceptible to rainfall infiltration in the region from Guningtou elementary school to Pan Shan village. This study completes a total of six cases study. For numerical modeling, the difference of the amount of groundwater level rising caused by rainfall infiltration between analysis and measurement is ranging from 6.2% to 7.1%. From the results obtained, it is shown that SEEP / W program can reasonably simulate the phenomenon of groundwater level rising caused by rainfall infiltration. |
