In the thesis, we demonstrate a continuous-wave mode-locking laser system via cascaded second order Kerr lens (CSKL) at 1063 nm. The CSKL is generated by a KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystal and transformed the amplitude modulation into a diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser. An average power of 3.49 W is obtained under 19.5 W diode power at 808 nm. The pulse repetition rate, the pulse duration and the measured linewidth of the cw mode-locked laser are 175.44 MHz, 19.85 ps and 0.138 nm, respectively. Through varying the temperature of nonlinear crystal and replacing the output coupler, we find the stable cascaded second order mode-locking is achieved by focusing CSKL effect.
