| الوصف: | 98 IEEE 802.16 standard (Worldwide Interoperability Microwave Access, WiMAX) is originally developed to address the “last mile” problem for Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN). Without physical boundaries, a wireless network brings much convenience, but it faces many problems on security. Therefore, a series of amendments to IEEE 802.16 and many related works by other scholars have been published as countermeasure. This thesis gives an overview of the standard, IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX), focusing on the MAC layer and especially the security sublayer. Then, we introduce some common methods of attacks and discuss a few improved approaches presented in the related works. Based on the methods of these related works, we present some improved modifications of Privacy Key Management (PKM) protocol and analyze the proposed protocol. |
