This study is proposed to investigate the relationship between servant leadership and the effectiveness of teams. While Greenleaf’s (1977) seminal work on servant leadership has led to literature surrounding the construct, up to this point, very few studies have been done to investigate what effect servant leadership behaviors have on the effectiveness of teams. Therefore, the present study seeks to answer the research question: “Is there a relationship between servant leadership and team effectiveness” ? The data collected were gathered using two instruments: (a) The Servant Leadership Assessment Instrument; and (b) The Team Effectiveness Questionnaire. And using these two methods to measure iv the relationship between servant leadership and team effectiveness. Moreover, according to different organizational demographics variables-- gender, age, level in organization, organization type, to measure their differences. This study is not only to show the hypothesis that servant leadership does have significant relationship with team effectiveness, but also the differences servant leadership has between non-profit organizations and in profit organizations. Furthermore, by collecting and reviewing of literatures about servant leadership, this dissertation will be helpful for those interested in studying this topic in the future.
