| الوصف: | 96 The 802.21 is an IEEE emerging standard. The standard provides seamless handoff between networks of the same type as well as handoff between different network types also called Media Independent Handover (MIH). If the handoff mechanism of MIH is based on the received signal strength (RSS), the mobile node may roam to the congested network. This thesis illustrates operations of MIH and studies NIST Seamless and Secure Mobility module in NS-2 that triggers Link Going Down event by 802.11and 802.16 interfaces. We design four scenarios including crossing WLAN and WMAN domain、crossing WLAN and WMAN domain with background traffic. According to simulation result, we observed the mobile node may roam to the congested network if the handoff mechanism of MIH is based on the RSS. The contribution of this thesis includes illustration operations of MIH and studies NIST Seamless and Secure Mobility module in NS-2. We measure throughput and packet delay by writing AWK scripts. |
