| الوصف: | 93 Taiwan wooden containers industry declined conspicuously as a result of the dramatic transition of the industry structure. The originally exporting wooden containers have increasingly been replaced by imported products. This study aimed at collecting relative information on amount and the import and export trading value as the secondary data, while the primary data include those obtained from questionnaire survey from wooden containers manufacturers. An analysis of these information to explore the competitiveness of the industry was conducted. The current status of the management and manufacture of wooden containers, the market development trend, and the future direction were derived and discussed. The results show that the industry encounters the difficulty of raw materials acquisition, significant uprising raw material costs, and labor capital as well as strong competition from international products. The main export destination of the products are Japan and America, while China and Indonesia, the main importing origins. The cases and drums are the wooden containers that have stronger competitiveness. Most of the wooden container manufacturers in Taiwan are medium and small- sized business. The publicized reports and official statistical figures are the primary source their information from., The industry faces strong competition from other Asian countries according to Porter's competitive environment analysis the profitability thus decreases year after year. The superior negotiating power of wooden containers buyers and raw material suppliers are another factors affecting the profit. For the future development of the industry establishing an information exchange system, boarding the sources of raw material and diversifying product category are processes that would promote the competitiveness in cost and market of the products. |
