الوصف: | 92 The purpose of this study were to design a counseling program in web-based environment which suited to shy children in elementary schools and to evaluate the effects of the counseling program on shyness, social self-esteem, peer relationships of shy children. The subjects consisted of 16 shy children in 5th and 6th grade at the some elementary school in Tainan. These children were assigned randomly to the experiment group and control group. Moreover, four welcome and non-shy children were joined into the experiment group. The experiment group was treated four times a week and the experimental treatment extended to two months. Each session lasted one hour. The control group received no treatment. All subjects received the pretest and posttest with Personal Felling Scale, the Social Scale, and Peer Rating Scale. The data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed-rank Test for Paired Observations and Sign Test of Nonparametric Statistics. Furthermore, subjects’ feedbacks to this counseling program in web-based environment were analyzed by descriptive statistics and qualitative methods were used as the proofs and supplements of this research. The main findings of this study were as follows: 1.The result of the test with Personal Felling Scale showed the counseling program in web-based environment didn’t have significant effect on improving the Shy children’s shyness, but other data of subjects’ feedbacks showed the program could help the shy children in some ways. 2.The counseling program in web-based environment had significant effect on improving the Shy children’s social self-esteem. 3.The counseling program in web-based environment had significant effect on improving the Shy children’s peer relationships. 4.The subjects had positive comments on the counseling program in web-based environment. According to above findings, suggestions were offered for counselors and future research. |
