The proposal was predicted to have positive impacts on stock markets. This study examines the causation between cumulative abnormal return (CAR) and six company characteristic variables: land-to-total assets ratio (business), land-to-total assets ratio (sale), debt ratio, market value / book value ratio, the natural logarithm of total assets, and quick ratio. The results of this study are as follows: (1) CAR of the five selected event days is positive. (2) For all listed companies (excluding banking and insurance industry), CAR is positively related with land-to-total assets ratio (business), land-to-total assets ratio (sale), debt ratio, and the natural logarithm of total assets, and negatively related with market value / book value ratio. The coefficient of land-to-total assets ratio (sale) is higher than land-to-total assets ratio (business), which indicates that the proposal has greater impact on companies with higher land-to-total assets ratio (sale). (3) For construction companies, CAR is negatively related with land-to-total assets ratio (business) and market value to book value ratio, and positively related with the natural logarithm of total assets. |
