This report describes the additional certification of the mass fractions of C, Cr, Cu, Fe, H, Hf, Mn, Mo, N, Ni, O, Sb, Sn, Ta, W and Zr in the already existing material BCR®-089 (TiAl6V4 alloy), which was previously certified for the mass fraction of Al and V (see EUR Report 14056 EN). BCR-089 is a TiAl6V4 alloy obtained from an industrial production line. The material was prepared in rod form by hot isostatic pressing and then cut into cylinders.Between-unit homogeneity was quantified and stability during dispatch and storage were assessed in accordance with ISO Guide 35:2006.The material was characterised by an intercomparison among laboratories of demonstrated competence and adhering to ISO/IEC 17025. Technically invalid results were removed but no outlier was eliminated on statistical grounds only. Uncertainties of the certified values were calculated in compliance with the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and include uncertainties related to possible inhomogeneity, instability and to characterisation.The material is intended for the calibration of methods, quality control and assessment of method performance. As any reference material, it can also be used for control charts or validation studies. The CRM is available in a cylinder of 40 mm diameter and 20 mm height. The minimum sample intake representative for B, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Nb, Ni, Si, Sn and W is 10 mg. The minimum sample intake representative for Bi, H, Hf, Hg, La, N, O, Ru, Sb, Ta, Zn and Zr is 100 mg. The minimum sample intake representative for C is 150 mg |
