| الوصف: | Uveitis and its complications are more common in the developing world, in which the condition occurs in up to 714 per 100,000 in the population and accounts for up to 25% of all blindness. In India, the ophthalmic sub speciality of uveitis greatly evolved in the last four decades. In the early decades most of the studies were epidemiological studies. In recent years, more research has been published due to tremendous advancements in clinical diagnosis, laboratory investigations and ancillary test and treatment modalities. In this review article, we did a medline search with key words ‘uveitis’ and ‘India’, and selectively incorporated articles showing the evolution of this sub-speciality in India. |
