الوصف: The thermal behaviour of the compact of an uncalcined hydrolysed carbonated calcium phosphate powder slowly heated in air (i.e. under conditions of the reaction sintering) was studied to reveal the reactions which could influence its densification up to 1100°C. A number of different reactions were found which occurred with different efficiency, but finally enabled a densification of about 94%TD of the composite with a hydroxyapatite/β-tricalcium phosphate (HA/β-TCP) ratio of 48/52. Such composites are highly perspective for further densification under the conventional or other suitable sintering methods at a desired temperature in the production of improved HA/β-TCP ceramics.
