الوصف: In the literary review the modern data proving an important physiological role of vitamin D and its deficiency for man's health in whole and the male reproduction, in particular is presented. For today these proofs are based basically on experimental works with animals and on clinical observant researches which demonstrative base while is insufficient for a formulation of the general concept of vitamin D deficiency for modern medicine. However, there are some encouraging results deserving a complex estimation and the further basic researches. Considering high prevalence of male infertility, not diagnosed androgen deficiency and vitamin D at men, which have intime authentic pathophysiological communications, it is possible to assume that the further researches in area endocrinology of vitamin D can come to new methods of an estimation of men's reproductive function and working out of new pathogenetic therapeutic approaches in male infertility treatment. These prospects are especially important if to consider that infertility suffers not less than 10–20 % of married couples, and this figure constantly increases. In spite of the fact that vitamin D is not included yet into the list of preparations for treatment of male infertility, but its influence at male androgen status which is endocrinological basis of sexual and reproductive functions, and positive effects at spermatogenesis in experimental researches is necessary to consider proved. Besides, large-scale clinical randomized researches are necessary for definition of an optimal 25(OH)-vitamin D level for prevention and treatment of male fertility's disorders.
