Between 1908 and 1935, in the context of the rise and consolidation of Venezuela as the main global oil exporter, the politician and military man Juan Vicente Gomez shaped a dictatorial regime. This article, based on analytical resources from the connected histories, seeks to analyze the political and diplomatic positions assumed by the governments of Colombia in the face of the dictatorship imposed by Gomez in Venezuelan territory. Through the review of the press and reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is shown that, during the Gomez regime, Colombian governments maintained diplomatic relations with Venezuela and some of them collaborated with Gomez to control the armed uprisings organized by Venezuelan military from Colombia. This position of the Colombian governments was determined by the key role Venezuela played in the solution of several border problems faced by Colombia at that time. Aside from border disputes with Venezuela itself, the governments at that time had to deal with rumors of separatist claims of Colombian territory on the Colombian Venezuelan border and diplomatic tensions with Ecuador. ; Entre 1908 e 1935, no marco do ascensão e consolidação da Venezuela como principal exportador de petróleo a nível global, o político e militar Juan Vicente Gómez deu forma a um regime ditatorial. Este artigo, a partir dos recursos analíticos provenientes das histórias conectadas, pretende analisar as posições políticas e diplomáticas assumidas pelos governos da Colômbia frente à ditadura imposta por Gómez em território venezuelano. Através da revisão de prensa e relatórios do Ministério das Relações Exteriores, mostra-se que, durante o regime gomecista, os governos colombianos mantiveram relações diplomáticas com a Venezuela e alguns deles colaboraram com Gómez para controlar os alçamentos armados organizados por militares venezuelanos desde a Colômbia.
