Application of Supply Chain Management (SCM) enables enterprises to enhance the performance of the product lines through the combination with other vendors, reducing inventory costs and thereby satisfying customer's needs better. This responds quickly to market changes. However, in Vietnam, SCM is not implemented synchronously. It is inadequate, inefficient and risky. Therefore, it is not capable of integrating into the global supply chain. This article gives an overview analysis of the weaknesses of SCM in Vietnamese companies as well as new tendency in SCM worldwide. The paper contributes to the managerial practices by proposing solutions to creating the foundation for promoting the application of SCM to the companies in Vietnam. |
