| الوصف: | Teratomas are the most common congenital tumors, but teratomas of the nasopharynx are rare in neonates. The present report is about 23 days new born with a nasopharyngeal teratoma protruding from the oral cavity. The mass lesion nearly total obstructed the airways and demand immediate intervention. The nasopharyngeal mass was successfully excised by the transpalatal route. Histological examination showed that it was a mature teratoma. Although nasopharyngeal teratoma is a benign tumor, it may lead to urgency of airway management in the newborn. In this rare case presentation, the differential diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal teratoma has been discussed in accompaniment with the literature information. |
