| الوصف: | The article is devoted to the current problem — the maintenance of green areas, as the formation of a comfortable urban environment. Landscaping is an important way to improve the urban environment, as well as a tool for creating an aesthetically pleasing appearance of the city. Greenery is an integral part of the architectural landscape and, above all, performs a sanitary and hygienic function.Particular attention is paid to the lack of necessary free areas, lack of green spaces in modern cities. Also identified is one of the ways to improve the environment in an urban environment through vertical landscaping used on the walls of the building in the street.The article analyzes the concepts and studies the main relevant methods of solution used in world experience. Specific examples of application of the listed methods of gardening are analyzed. The experience of application of modern approaches to solving the issue of landscaping in Ukraine is presented. It was found that landscaping of free areas, parking lots, roofs and facades has a positive effect on the city’s ecology and the health of citizens. Greenery prolongs the longevity of the building, has a beneficial effect on the aesthetic perception of architecture, at the same time, architectural structures allow you to green and create the image of a modern city.The shortcomings of vertical landscaping have been identified and ways have been suggested to eliminate them.
