RESUMEN: El presente trabajo investigativo se centra en analizar la configuración del conflicto armado en el municipio de La Unión (Oriente antioqueño) durante el período 1984-2003. Dicha localidad se vio inmersa en la dinámica de la violencia tras el arribo de tres guerrillas (ELN, EPL y FARC) hacia finales de la década de 1980, enmarcado en la expansión regional de la insurgencia; posteriormente a mediados de la década de 1990 se da la incursión de las estructuras paramilitares del Bloque Metro y el Frente José Luis Zuluaga en alianza con la Fuerza Pública, en el marco de una estrategia regional contra-insurgente. Estos hechos convierten al municipio de La Unión, por su ubicación geoestratégica, en un “territorio en disputa” para los distintos bandos. Así nos interesa observar la dinámica espacio-temporal de la violencia en la localidad, la relación con los conflictos pre-existentes en el territorio y la reconfiguración del poder político en el municipio en el marco de la incursión paramilitar. ; ABSTRACT: The present investigative work focuses on analyzing the configuration of the armed conflict in the municipality of La Unión (Oriente de Antioquia) during the period 1984-2003. This locality was immersed in the dynamics of violence after the arrival of three guerrillas (ELN, EPL and FARC) towards the end of the 1980s, framed in the regional expansion of the insurgency; Later, in the mid-1990s, the paramilitary structures of the Bloque Metro and the José Luis Zuluaga Front entered into an alliance with the Public Force, within the framework of a regional counter-insurgent strategy. These facts make the municipality of La Union, due to its geostrategic location, a "disputed territory" for the different sides. Thus, we are interested in observing the space-time dynamics of violence in the locality, the relationship with pre-existing conflicts in the territory and the reconfiguration of political power in the municipality in the framework of the paramilitary incursion. |
