Introduction: In recent decades, university education in Latin America has experienced a notable transformation in its teaching methods. Various studies, such as that of López, Sierra, Zúñiga, Castillo and others; They highlighted the importance of adapting teaching strategies to the characteristics and needs of the students. The objective of this research was to analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of didactic mechanisms used in the teaching or learning process in university students, identifying their impact on academic performance. Materials and methods: The methodological journey of the documentary study consisted of a systematic review of the literature with the guidelines of the PRISMA method, focused on identifying, evaluating and synthesizing the research published from 2019 to 2024, related to didactic mechanisms in education. university in Latin America. Based on a systematic literature review (RSL) of works by Latin American authors published in the Scopus, Research Rabbit, Semantic Scholar, ProQuest and Google Scholar databases, after searching for articles in the databases, 31 investigations that met the criteria were selected. the defined selection criteria. Results: Adapting teaching strategies to the individual needs of students is essential to improve university education in Latin America, supported by the solid methodology of systematic literature review. Discussion: However, careful attention to contextual differences and effective integration of educational technologies, along with ongoing teacher training, are required to ensure effectiveness and equity in the implementation of these teaching mechanisms.
