Board of Studies were established from time to time to administer courses not falling within the area of any one faculty, and were subject to the general direction of the Professorial Board. When created in 1948, this Board comprised three members each from: the academic staff, the Australian Journalists' Association, and the Newspaper Proprietors' Association. It was responsible for the administration of the Diploma in Journalism, but this function was taken over in 1976 by the Faculty of Arts. The Board succeeded the Diploma in Journalism Committee, which dated from 1920. |
