الوصف: | Foot diseases associated with diabetes represent a significant burden worldwide, as they cause microvascular and macrovascular complications. Early detection of these complications allows us to identify feet at risk and remains an essential practice in the comprehensive care of patients with diabetes. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out using simple random sampling. To assess the risk of developing diabetic foot, a standardized tool from the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) was used. The statistical analysis was carried out with the SPSS version 27 package, applying the Chi-square test and the Pearson correlation coefficient to determine the relationship between the variables. The objective was identify the factors associated with the development of diabetic foot in patients treated in a specialized primary care module in Oaxaca, Mexico. The demographic and clinical variables of 242 patients were analyzed, of which 68.6% were women, with a mean age of 60.91 years (SD ± 10.16). 43.4% of patients required annual screening. Among the most frequent findings were onychomycosis and hyperkeratosis, while hallux valgus and peripheral arterial disease were less common. Significant associations were found between the type of treatment received and the presence of chronic kidney disease. ; Las enfermedades del pie asociadas con la diabetes representan una carga significativa a nivel mundial, ya que son causa de complicaciones microvasculares y macrovasculares. La detección temprana de estas complicaciones permite identificar pies en riesgo y sigue siendo una práctica esencial en el cuidado integral de los pacientes con diabetes.
