| الوصف: | The article tells us about the issues of democratic civil control over the activity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine by the Ukrainian Parliament. Having considered the concept and essence of democratic civilian control over the armed forces and other security forces in any democratic country, the author states that this is one of the principles of the functioning of the state, as well as one of the key principles of ensuring national security. The emergence of this institution in our country resulted from the development of democracy in Ukraine, as well as the integration of Ukraine into international structures. This principle, in relation to the State Border Service of Ukraine, is enshrined among the basic principles of activity of this institution in the Law of Ukraine "On the State Border Service of Ukraine", and the procedure for its implementation is provided in the Strategy for Development of the State Border Service of Ukraine. In the system of democratic civil control over the activity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, parliamentary control, which is an integral value of the democratic form of organization of society, is an important part. It represents the activity of the Parliament of Ukraine, constituted by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, bodies, elected officials and people's deputies of Ukraine, established for obtaining, studying, proclaiming information on activities, decisions, legal acts of other bodies and officials of public authorities, enterprises, institutions and organizations and the response measures provided by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine based on this information. It is implemented through reports of the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on the fulfillment of its tasks; activities of parliamentary committees and special committees; parliamentary scrutiny of the Ombudsman; control of the People's Deputies of Ukraine and control activity of the Accounting Chamber.
