| الوصف: | This article presents some approaches to the cultural dimensions of drug trafficking in the panorama of Social Sciences and Humanities in Latin America, with special reference to the Colombian context. The objective is to verify how different ways of approaching the drug-trafficking/culture relationship appear through notions used as conceptual tools that emphasize specific characteristics of this relationship. Among them, the notion of “narcoculture” stands out, which, on the one hand, refers to the set of practices that make up a certain way of life and, on the other hand, to the aesthetic registers that are produced from the drug trafficking context. The notion of “narco-aesthetics” can be highlighted as a specific categorical derivation associated with representations and cultural forms such as narco-literature, narco-architecture, narco-series, among others. Through this review of the different characterizations that have been developed about the drug trafficking-culture relationship, we will be able to weigh the scope and challenges of studying some of the cultural dimensions of drug trafficking. This article was prepared as part of the documentation exercise for the doctoral thesis Drug trafficking and culture: Habitus and daily life in contemporary Medellín, of the National University of Colombia. Mainly articles from academic journals, books, book chapters and postgraduate theses were reviewed. From this review, it is concluded that narcoculture as an object of study in the Latin American context is understood both as a way of life and as an aesthetic conception that is not exclusively attributable to drug traffickers, but is inserted in the construction of narratives and representations that are partly fed by means of communication and artistic forms. ; En este artículo, se presentan algunos acercamientos a las dimensiones culturales del narcotráfico en el panorama de las ciencias sociales y las humanidades en América Latina, con énfasis en el contexto colombiano.
