The author investigates on the role of the philosophers before the challenges of bioethics. In this sense she intends to plead for a bioethics without metaphysics, as well as to recover the Socratic style in philosophical inquiry. In her opinion, both dimensions suppose a change of mentality in the work of philosophers and their theorizing desire to contribute to bioethics, which is expressed in analyzing concepts, formulating unsuspected queries, systematizing reasons and arguments that endorse reasonable opinions and, mainly, in impelling deliberation. All the above-mentioned is of supreme importance since the nucleus of the ethics is summarized today in one word: responsibility. ; La autora indaga sobre el papel de los filósofos ante los desafíos de la bioética. En este sentido, propone abogar por una bioética sin metafísica, así como también recuperar el talante socrático en la indagación filosófica. A su juicio, ambas dimensiones suponen un cambio de signo en la labor del filósofo y su afán teorizador por contribuir a la bioética, el cual se expresa en analizar conceptos, formular interrogantes insospechados, sistematizar razones y argumentos que avalen las opiniones razonables y, sobre todo, en impulsar la deliberación. Todo lo anterior es de suma importancia por cuanto el núcleo de la ética se resume hoy en una palabra: responsabilidad. |
