Leadership characteristics of school managers are important for to be active and efficient of teachers at school. The main purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the teacher’s behavioral empowerment and the leadership styles of school managers. The importance of this article is that school managers' leadership styles can be effective in the behavioral empowerment of teachers. The sample of this study that is the correlational scanning model consists of 300 teachers, work in the city center of Istanbul. The sample was chosen by simple random sampling method. The data have been collected by “Teacher’s” Behavioral Empowerment Scale” and “Leadership Style Scale”. Data analysis was conducted by correlation and regression analysis. According to the results of the study, sub dimensions of teacher’s behavioral empowerment has been seen to be a significant predictor of sub dimensions leadership styles. Therefore, in this study; the perceived leadership behaviors of school managers were found to be effective in the behavioral empowerment of the teachers. The teachers prefer the subscriber and transformational leaders for the behavioral empowerment of themselves. Findings are discussed in the light of literature and suggestions are presented ; Okul yöneticilerinin liderlik özellikleri, öğretmenlerin okulda etkin ve etkili olmasında önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın başlıca amacı, öğretmenlerin davranışsal güçlendirilmeleri ile okul yöneticilerinin liderlik stilleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu makalenin önemi, okul yöneticilerinin liderlik stillerinin öğretmenlerin davranışsal açıdan güçlendirilmesinde etkili olabileceğidir. İlişkisel tarama modelindeki araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, İstanbul il merkezinde görev yapan 300 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır.
