| الوصف: | Esta investigación tiene como objetivo realizar un análisis exhaustivo del impacto socioeconómico de la minería en la parroquia Gualel del cantón Loja. Los datos de este estudio provienen de un muestreo no probabilístico y se centran en un enfoque cualitativo basado en entrevistas semiestructuradas y observación no participante. La información recopilada se categoriza utilizando el software NVivo. Los resultados revelan la complejidad de los efectos derivados de la actividad minera. A pesar de haber impulsado la economía local mediante la creación de empleo y el aumento de ingresos, la minería metálica también generó tensiones sociales significativas. Se observa claramente que esta actividad no solo afectó aspectos económicos, sino que también provocó notables transformaciones sociales en la comunidad. Por tanto, se destaca la necesidad de una gestión responsable de la minería metálica, reconociendo su impacto transformador tanto en las comunidades como en el entorno. Este análisis subraya la importancia de encontrar un equilibrio entre el progreso económico, la preservación ambiental y el bienestar comunitario para garantizar un desarrollo sostenible a largo plazo. ; This research aims to conduct a thorough analysis of the socioeconomic impact of mining in the parish of Gualel in the canton of Loja. Data from this study comes from non-probabilistic sampling and focuses on a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation. The information collected is categorized using NVivo software. The results reveal the complexity of the effects of mining activity. Despite boosting the local economy through job creation and income growth, metal mining also generated significant social tensions. It is clear that this activity not only affected economic aspects, but also caused notable social transformations in the community.
