| الوصف: | L’Église orthodoxe en Bosnie-Herzégovine a relevé jusqu’en 1920 de l’autorité de Constantinople. Quand l’Autriche-Hongrie a reçu le mandat d’occuper cette province ottomane, en 1878, elle a voulu donner à la Bosnie une autonomie par rapport au Phanar. Cependant, résultat d’une vieille tradition concordataire, cette volonté n’exprimait en l’occurrence qu’une stratégie politique. ; The Orthodox Church in Bosnia-Herzegovina was subordinate to the authority of Constantinople until 1920. When Austria-Hungary was given the mandate to occupy this Ottoman province, in 1878, the government wanted to yield some autonomy for the Orthodox in relation to the Phanar. This was a secular reflex resulting from a long tradition of concordat; however, in this case it was obviously a political strategy. |
