الوصف: The article analyzes modern scientific research of Estonian scientists working in the field of choreographic and pedagogical education, including the work of H.Einasto, who studied the birth of ballet in Estonia. A.Sööt, in his investigations, considers the role of reflection in the professional development of the future choreographer and describes the general trends in the development of modern dance pedagogy, shows the main goals and methods of training in dance pedagogy. S.Kapper – analyzes the issue of perception and cognition of the dancer's body, as well as the mental and emotional states associated with this activity, shows what the modern dance tradition is today and who uses it and how. I.Zajedova, E.Rüütel, A.Arraste, K.Järvela, S.Nemeržitski are actively studying the preservation of national cultural traditions through Estonian folk dance, awakening interest in the future of Estonian festivals as a ritual that creates and affirms national identity, etc. It has been proven that scientific studies of artistic and choreographic-pedagogical education in Estonia are represented by various aspects, including: the study of dance traditions and the national identity of Estonian choreography; trends in the development of modern choreography in the context of today's sociocultural problems; the development of folk stage dance of Estonia through the tradition of dance festivals and celebrations of national culture. Research in each direction was analyzed. Methods of teaching dance through self-regulation and reflection are considered, which directly affect the individuality, creativity, and activity of the future choreographer. Possibilities of obtaining professional choreographic education in Estonian higher education institutions were considered: educational programs in choreography of Tallinn University (Tallinn Ülikool) and Academy of Culture Viljandi University of Tartu (Tartu Ülikooli Viljandi Kultuuriakadeemia).
