Ron McLarty discusses his book, “The Memory of Running.” He begins by explaining that he always knew he wanted to be a writer and that he wrote a lot while he was in the army. This book is the third of ten he has written, but the only one that has been published. He then discusses the book’s plot and explores some of the main characters. In the book the protagonist’s parents are killed in a car accident and McLarty explains that this portion of the book is autobiographical. He goes on to share that in his books he tries to explain events he has experienced and people that he has loved so that he can better understand them. Later in the interview he talks about how the book is going to be made into a film and he is writing the screenplay. |
