Se presentan los resultados de un proyecto etnobotánico que pretende rescatar el conocimiento vegetal y la etnomedicina entre los indígenas Warao de la Isla de Araguabisi y de Tucupita en el estado Delta Amacuro. El trabajo de campo se realizó en el año 2002-2006 empleando entrevistas no estructuradas y el método de acción participativa. Se recopiló una buena parte de la memoria colectiva con relación al mundo vegetal y los conocimientos mágico-religioso sobre las plantas del Delta con informantes claves, algunos de los cuáles eran los yerberos, ancianos y el chamán (wisidatu) de la comunidad. Se recolectaron 106 muestras de las plantas silvestres y cultivadas que son empleadas como curativas originarias de la zona del Delta Amacuro. ; The results of an etnobotanical project are shown in this work, which aims to rescue the knowledge on plants and etnomedicine among Warao natives from Araguabisi island and Tucupita, in Delta Amacuro State. The fieldwork took place from 2002 to 2006 using nonstructured interviews and methods of participation activities, collecting important information concerning to the plant kingdom from the Delta and their magical-religious purposes, base on collective memory from natives, especially given by key informants, some healers, old people and the community Wisidatu (Shaman). 106 samples, both wild and cultivated plants from Delta Amacuro used to healing. ; 139-158 ; cuatrimestral |
