الوصف: | Tourism education and training is a key factor in promoting the tourism product and improving the quality of tourism services. At the same time, high emotional intelligence leads to emotionally intelligent employees who provide high quality services and contribute to the achievement of the company's objectives. Focusing on cultivating emotional intelligence by applying innovative and efficacious training methods in modern learning environments is a challenge for the scientific community and an area for thorough investigation. This Ph.D. thesis focuses on tourism education and training with the main objective of examining the utilization of Transformative Learning theory for emotional intelligence enhancement, through the use of digital educational technologies and adopting a framework for human resources development in the tourism sector. More specifically, the impact of Transformative Learning as an educational methodological tool for emotional intelligence enhancement using digital learning technologies is examined, compared to conventional teaching methods. At the same time, an experiment is conducted in which a combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools is applied. The main objective is to measure emotional intelligence and evaluate the training program adopted. Furthermore, the digital technology implemented is investigated, measuring its effectiveness, the degree of interaction, its usability and acceptance, as well as the presence of emotions in the digital educational environment. The findings and conclusions of this dissertation will be useful and usable in the application of modern and innovative methods in training programs for emotional intelligence development and specifically by stakeholders in the field of tourism education and training.
