The article is dedicated to the problem of professional training of future philologists using information technologies in the context of modern challenges such as globalization, integration processes, war, migration of students abroad, distance learning, quarantine restrictions due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, etc. In times of war, the digitization of higher education is expected to contribute in various ways to ensure that students have everything they need for acquiring knowledge, and prospective students have the motivation to enroll in domestic higher education institutions (HEIs). This issue is of national significance. The factors that promote the development of digitization in higher education are outlined. The State Standard for the specialty 035 Philology is analyzed, which regulates the professional training of future philologists. Educational-professional programs (EPP) of HEI faculties are examined, providing a list of competencies and learning outcomes. The conclusion is drawn that the leading aspect of professional training for future philologists in the modern world is scientific and cultural interaction, with information and computer technologies (ICT) being a crucial means of realization. It is emphasized that certain aspects, such as digitization of philological education, ecology/normativity of the Ukrainian scientific language, etc., do not receive sufficient attention in EPPs. Typical language mistakes found in students’ scientific texts are presented. The importance of a practice-oriented approach in the professional training of future philologists is emphasized. Effective methods and forms of using ICT in the educational process of future philologists are proposed. A list of electronic resources that future philologists should master during their studies at HEIs to become competitive professionals is provided.
