الوصف: | 학위논문(박사) -- 서울대학교대학원 : 사범대학 윤리교육과, 2021.8. 정창우. ; In moral subjects, it is necessary to reorganize civic education according to with social changes and the demands of the future society. In the meantime, moral education has played an important role in civic and citizenship education, but mainly has focused on direct learning and teaching on civic values and virtues. As a result, there are still prejudices and stereotypes that civic education in moral subjects is indoctrinative and conservative. This acts as an obstacle to vitalization of civic education in moral subjects. Starting from this awareness of the problem, this study tried to redefine ethical citizenship in a way that matches the citizenship of the future society. Ethical citizenship refers to citizenship, which means to think critically and reflect on our life, social structures and institutions. And it approaches metacognitively and solves problems in communication with others. This is to discuss citizenship by expanding it as a moral competence rather than limiting it to issues of legal status, rights, civic duties and responsibilities. Lind said that competencies are formed when students deliberate, discuss, and solve moral issues on their own rather than are instilled with moral and civic values. This ethical citizenship emphasizes the content and direction of reflecting on better reasons and more appropriate actions in decision and choice rather than only the method such as democratic process. This means reinforced citizenship with more fundamental ethical elements to form a rigid democracy. Therefore, ethical-civic education should focus on the competences of citizens with critical thinking and reflection skills to solve civil society problems in meta-cognitive level through empathic communication. To realize this, it is suggested that critical reflection on our life and society in general should be emphasized, communication and empathy should be strengthened, and problem-solving ability should be cultivated through meta-cognition.
